In full sight of the Israel’s observant spiritual leaders, Jesus not only called one of society’s dregs to follow Him, but He then spent an evening dining with some of his disreputable friends. That won Jesus criticism, but also an opportunity to reveal something that the teachers of the Law had missed in the Law about what is most important to God.

It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been seeking healing without finding it. Today we’ll look at the story of a woman whom Jesus healed who had unsuccessfully sought healing for twelve years, as well as a story of young girl whose sickness resulted in her death before Jesus brought her miracle.

Right around the same time, a baby girl was born and a grown woman started desperately seeking healing. Twelve years later, the little girl was also ill, and the grown woman was at the end of her rope. But on the same day, they both encountered Jesus and experienced miracles.

Here is yet another miracle of healing recorded in Matthew’s gospel, and once again, faith was clearly a component in the outcome. We can learn much from studying what these two blind did that resulted in their regaining sight.
